Do I need to complete all of PT Online before starting PT PRO?

Here we explain how to structure your self-studies for PT PRO.

Updated this week

There are various ways to approach PT PRO, and we’d like to share some tips to make your studies as seamless as possible.

In the timeline below (click on the image to view it in full size), you’ll see all weekends included in the PT PRO - Standard schedule. If you’re following the intensive track, the sequence and topics remain the same but are spread across weekdays instead of weekends.

Above the weekends, you’ll find linked PT Online chapters marked in beige or orange. These chapters are associated with the entire weekend, not just the day where the line ends. The colors represent the following:

PT Online chapters in light text: We recommend completing these chapters before the weekend, but you will still benefit from the weekend’s instructor-led sessions even if you haven’t finished them.

Orange topics: These chapters are more important to complete to get the most out of the related instructor-led days. Prioritize finishing these chapters.

To clarify, here are two study plan examples:

If you have more than 4 weeks until the digital introduction:

Start with the course chapters in order (Research, Public Health & Source Criticism, Anatomy, Physiology, Exercise Science, etc.). After completing the first chapter, assess how much time you spent on it and whether you think you can complete all chapters and assignments before the first instructor-led weekend. If you feel confident, continue in the regular sequence. If not, prioritize the chapters and assignments in orange text on the timeline.

If you have less than 4 weeks until the digital introduction:

Start by completing the chapters and assignments marked in orange text on the timeline. Then, proceed with the chapters in light text, following the order they appear in the timeline.

Which approach is best?

There isn’t a single correct answer—it depends on your individual study style. Some people thrive under a little time pressure, while others prefer to plan each step in advance. Ultimately, you’re the best judge of what works for you. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to schedule a call to create a personalized study plan tailored to your needs and schedule.
